My name is Clare Stanton and I am a Doctoral student from The University of Auckland, School of Psychology. With my supervisors, Professor Fred Seymour, and Associate Professor Kerry Gibson, we are currently carrying out research to better understand the experiences of parents who have cared for a young person who has been suicidal.
In this study we will talk with people about their experiences of parenting an adolescent at risk of suicide in order to find out how to better support parents through this process. We are interested in hearing about how the suicidal behaviour affected you and your family and what was helpful or unhelpful in coping with the experience. We would also like to hear what advice you would give other parents in a similar situation.
